“Who Built Wigan’s Churches”

Is that a trick question?
If not, it’d may as well be.
“Who paid to have the churches built”?
“Who was the architect who had someone draw plans”?
Or, “who actually built them?

Not forgetting the fact that none of the churches in Wigan are actually ‘Wigan’s’
