General   (General discussion, talk about anything.)

Some sixty years ago, when I was in my early teens, there were chip shops and pie shops everywhere you went. About ten years after we had a proliferation of Chinese Chippies appearing. Were those not classed as fast food establishments selling unhealthy foods? I do agree that there are lots more obese people now though. We used to “ play out” every daylight minute playing cricket, rugby, football, hide and seek etc. etc. All these involved moving about. Now there are TV’s with wall to wall sport. Hundreds of channels. Most houses have access to cars ( no more running for the bus) If you play organized sport at a young age there is a maximum score so “ you don’t cause mental problems for the losers” Sports have to be non competitive for the same reason. No more rationing. You all get the gist.
