"Alberta is the only province in Canada that does not have any rats and is, in fact, the largest inhabited area on the planet that is rat-free."

Not much use here. Alberta is 2.5 times the size of the UK. If you do spot a rat there is a dedicated number to report it and they blitz that area to clear it.
