I think he had trouble adding up as well, didn't he say there were 3 entrance doors in the swan when he so-called went in.

I think it may be you who has trouble with your basic maths.
There were indeed three entrances to the Swan, one of which is no longer in use. There was one on White Street, one on Ormskirk Road and one at the back of the building.
