They will only pump if the Duggies has gone down, otherwise the water will just come back up through the grids, and then it takes them about a minute to pump away the puddle.
That was years ago, so I don't know how they doo it now, maybe they have electric pumps which do it now, because they did doo a lot of work down there to alleviate the floofing problem
