What people decide to do to keep their head above water in exceptional circumstances like for example, a pandemic is up to them, but I agree that companies should be charged interest for holding on to customers money to obtain interest themselves.

A short while ago, I returned a faulty item worth nearly £300 to Amazon, but instead of getting the refund in the usual 3-5 days, it took over a month to refund the money and then it was only when I got on to them a couple of times about the refund and on the second occasion told them that they either they refund the money or else I would be getting in touch with the consumer protection people that they expediated the refund immediately.
