General (General discussion, talk about anything.)
Peter:
Are there no disabled parking spots there? Stupid question, I know, as there probably are, but not enough.
I know how bad it can be because when my brother visited me in hospital over Christmas, he was turning up to the hospital an hour early just to get a parking space, as the first time he visited he was driving around for half an hour until somebody moved.
For the size of the hospital, parking shouldn't be at such a premium, despite them adding another car park some years ago. It's still not good enough.
If I ever have to go there again for an appointment, I'd have to go by taxi and back because I couldn't put up with the frustration of going by car. It wouldn't be too bad for me as I only live about five miles from there, but I know you're on the other side of Wigan and taxi fares would be very expensive for you. Still, it's a thought.
P.S: Didn't you used to do a lot of cycling, Peter? Perhaps that's another option, knees permitting?
