THEY ARE SLEEPING NOW


They are sleeping now,
the two females that lighten my life-
lighten my load-
and burden me not
of troubles untold.

Tomorrow,
both wide-awake,
they will put me at ease,
as the moon makes its way home
dropping over rooftops and
bare trees.

And then,
they will be sleeping again-
and how lucky I am-
for then I will have no one else to
please.
