Tonker is on about the Haydock Reading Room, and someone who after being in there, was abducted by a UFO and never seen again

Tom, tells the tale about how one night on Ashton Heath, he saw a UFO which was on the ground, and then it shot up into the sky, and I presume he reported it, and consequently he says he was visited by the 'Men in Black' who told him to keep stum about it.

Now there are two things there.

1. Wot was Tom dooing on Ashton Heath that night, and was he up to no good

2. Tom is always jokey about the subject,,,, why ?
