Seemingly twenty one countries ( including ten in South America) have compulsory voting. In most of these no sanctions are taken against non voters. Australia is compulsory voting. Some countries only require you attend the polling station. Blank polling cards are acceptable. I have only glanced at Google so wouldn’t put monies on this statement.
