Owd codger,my view of councillors is totally different to you.
Every councillor is different. Some good ,some very good and some poor.
I emailed my three local councillors about a problem affecting my local community but not directly the councillors responsibility.
I asked for advice and if they had any knowledge about the problem.
I had replies from two of them within an hour and no response from the other,so I think you might realise that those two will get my vote as they were very helpful!
Incidentally my wife worked for the council for many years as a departmental manager and doesn’t share your opinion of the council.
My view is that if the 160 million the council was deprived of by the government during their austerity programme, we wouldn’t be moaning as much.
