General   (General discussion, talk about anything.)

A month ago, I was 'unfortunate' to visit the Infirmary in Wigan.

After a three hour wait for an ambulance, I was then taken to a triage nurse for further examination. I was then told to sit in a draughty waiting room, in my pyjamas, to wait a further three hours.

I was then examined by a junior doctor and given a note to collect Aspirin.

All the time that I was in A and E, there was little going on and no one was stretched or over stressed. I did notice one nurse who looked as if she'd fallen asleep. There were no queues in corridors.

I then left the hospital, still in my pyjamas, and was picked up by my daughter, who had hurriedly left the class she was teaching, to pick me up.

At no time during my stay was I offered a drink or asked if I was hungry. TWO MORE HOURS PASSED before I was picked up.

Seven days later after my son phoned the vascular dept and demanded to see a consultant; I was then given a doppler scan at the Christopher Home.

14 days later (14 DAYS) my son demanded that the results should be made known to me, and my family, and an appointment made to see the consultant.

I have been offered a review this Thursday to see a 'health advisor' to discuss what the next plan is...if there is one.

Let's all give a clap to the NHS...'Hard Pressed' by Covid...(HARDLY) on its way to inevitable privatisation.
