Dougie when I wanted some, I phoned the DW indoor football place and asked them what they did with there worn out grass.
They said they had some in a skip at the side of the building and I could help myself to it.
Trouble was it was in heavy big pieces and hard to get out of the skip on my own.
A lot of these carpet places now sell it so ask them if they have any cut offs
