It is an absolute certainty that there is extra terrestrial life out there.
Our own galaxy, The Milky Way is approximately 200, 000 light years across, and contains up tp 400 billion stars and planets.
There are billions of galaxies out there, so the chances of a sun having a planet rotating around it in the ‘habitable’ zone is very realistic.
The only thing is that the nearest habitable planet will be so far away that to get here
would be an immense undertaking.
Any spacecraft, even if it had technology that could give speeds approaching the speed of light, would take many years to get here.
The mothercraft would need to be huge to support a large crew and would need to be to be able to grow its own food.
The Universe is immense!!!!!!!!!!!
They are not going to get here in a piddling little flying saucer doings.

The nearest stars to earth are Alpha Centauri A, Alpha Centauri B and Proxima Centauri, which are 4,3 light years away.

Astronomers announced in August 2016 that they had detected an Earth-size planet orbiting Proxima Centauri.
The new found world, known as Proxima B, is about 1.3 times more massive than Earth, and it is probable that the exoplanet is a rocky world.
The planet is also in the star's habitable zone, that just-right range of distances where liquid water can exist.
Proxima B lies just 4.7 million miles (7.5 million kilometers) from its host star and completes one orbit every 11.2 Earth-days.
As a result, it's likely that the exoplanet is tidally locked, meaning it always shows the same face to its host star, just as the moon shows only one face (the near side) to Earth.

A light year is a measure of distance, the distance it takes for light to travel in a year.
Light travels at 186,000 miles per second.
You cannot comprehend the distance to Proxima B.
