Tonker, a simple answer is ignorance, I was completely unaware of the seriousness and extent of flu.

The current level of Covid 19 is fast approaching the figure of 50,000 flu deaths.and will obviously overtake it at some point in the future.

It maybe that the wearing of face masks against all the bugs out there will become commonplace, either all year round or certainly through the Winter months.
