The brand-new American hero, George Floyd, is being glorified as a shining beacon of decency, kindliness and blameless martyrdom. He was a "gentle giant" and an admirable, peaceful individual, say his legions of supporters.
At 6 ft 6 ins (1.99m) and 240 lbs (110 kgs) he may have been a giant; but gentle? Well... perhaps not.
His criminal record tells a squalid story. He was convicted of 9 separate offenses, for which he served 5 terms of imprisonment, totaling 8 years.
The most serious offence was of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, in which he broke into a house, overpowered and threatened the terrified pregnant female occupant at gunpoint and ransacked her house for cash and drugs. He pleaded guilty to this offense and was sentenced to 5 years. Previous offenses included 5 charges of theft with a firearm, criminal trespass, and possession of Class 1 drugs with intent to supply.
After completing his last term of imprisonment he abandoned his family and moved to Minnesota.
The autopsy taken after his death showed that at the time of his death he was under the influence of Fentanyl (a synthetic opioid drug 50-100 times more powerful than morphine) and methamphetamine (a highly addictive stimulant.) Not a nice mixture.
Tens of thousands of people around the world have been incited by militant anarchist groups to join protests about the death of this sordid individual. There have been demonstrations, riots, violence, vandalism, looting, arson and numerous additional deaths.
Demonstrators have gathered despite it being inevitable that they would be crammed close together in crowds, unable to abide by distancing precautions. Many of them could catch Covid-19 and spread it to others, but they regard this is as entirely justifiable although none of them said that about Dominic Cummings, who drove his car to Durham to ensure the safety of his autistic son and at no time went within 2 metres of anyone else.
These same people have turned a blind eye to the black-on-black massacres of the many millions who have died in Rwanda, the Congo, Sudan, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Niger and the routine black-on-black murders in western countries that still occur daily.
Even if these sheep-like people think it is time they stood up for something, it is the height of empty-headed absurdity for them to have selected such a completely unworthy candidate as a symbol of their futile, anarchist-inspired lawlessness.
