Without appearing to be rude to the poster of that thread, maybe the post is not of any interest to many whereas the other posts seem to me more of an interest. One unanswered post does not mean the boards are dying though and invoking the bad spirited person you name won't make it any better it will just put more people off posting then the boards will come to a standstill again.
