I remember when everyone used tea leaves, and you had to leave the last half inch in the cup, and throw it away, or else you ended up with a gob full of tea leaves, but if yoo were posh, you would have a tea strainer to catch the tea leaves, but even after using one of those I found that there were still tea leaves in the bottom of the cup.

I remember the tea stained cups, and they were caused by tannins in the tea and folk thought that in a tea stained cup, the tea tasted better, and washing up liquids would not shift a bad tea stain, in our house me mum had false teeth, and so one day me and me brother took to putting steradent tablet in the cups, which shifted the stains, but as time went on, washing up liquids improved, so that they dissolved the tea stains, so you don't really see them these days.
