The German prisoner of war camp in Warrington Road, Ashton. Opposite the entrance gates was a garage, yard and filling station, It belong to Jack Case, Plant Hire in the 1940`s can any body remeber the previous onwer name. The garage is at the corner of Park View and Warrington Road it`s Robbinson Saddlery now. look forward to your replies.

There was never a German prisoner of war camp in Warrington Road, Ashton.
It was a 'British' prisoner of war camp! 
PS: the best thing to do with this question, is put it on 'general' or on the history board proper. I reckon Geoff Campion might remember, as he used to live near there and he's proper owd!

I am helping a lady to find some info about her grandfather WALTER NUTTALL,a steeplejack. He was born Blackburn late 1800 s.
He was killed in 1940, while working on a chimney in Wigan.
Could anyone please help?
