PeterP!

Yoko hasn't explained why, Jazzy, though peaple have reasoned it's to "give peas a chance", "make world peas", etc. (Song)

Jo Anne..... I think it's time I thanked you for your clever play on words. Many times you have reduced me to giggling fits.

Thanks, Anne & Jazzy, I love word play, but I can't claim credit for the puns in my 8:48 post, they were from replies to Yoko Ono's tweet.

Oscar Wilde's words with a tweak:

Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, a-pea-mess whenever they go.*

(*And blame that Yoko Ono!)

Lucky Hens "Grow Your Own" - Facebook (today):

PEAS!! If you are quick, it is the last chance to sow some late peas to stretch the season into autumn. Certain varieties do best for late planting ... If it is your first time, planting peas is easy. Link

I wonder who invented mushy peas

Replied: 5th Aug 2015 at 19:36

Posted by: Jazzy (8656)

They were invented in 1904 in Austria by Doctor Johan Mush... There was a plague in a village near Dr Mush,s hometown..he examined the patients and discovered after many days that peas done in a certain fashion managed to relieve the sickness within a couple of days .....he received an award for this and that is how the name mushy peas came about !!!

And I think Yoko Ono's idea is quite romantic too.

I thought it might have been something to do with the Pea Mushateers.

The author, Alexandre Dumas wrote their story in C19th, & may well have been peeved that an author had already written a play about mushy peas a few centuries previously - C16th.
