OI; Stringfellows!
Just remembered that whilst looking at pics of big lurries.
Wiganism for 'Shift!' Similarly with calling folk 'Pilkingtons'(Been mentioned previously on WW). Usually when some child was stood/sat in front of telly. Pilkingtons beign a suggestion that they thought they were made of glass and could be seen through.
Stringfellows, on the other hand, were a removal company. If memory serves, they may have used ex Tupperware Bedford Marsden lorries.

Receipt
They ended up based at SLG.

as the receipt shows they were based at Springfield and their vehicles had a mural on the site stating 'the Bridge Between two Homes' they had an office in Atherton and their main garage was at Martland Mill by the canal just as you yurn to Standish Lower Ground,I thought they were well before Tupperware ?
also they had coaches and mainly did day trips and to rugby matches

Interesting to know when they closed or were taken over. Think I've also seen Pickford vehicles at SLG/Martland Mill.

There's a pic of an Antar being pulled by a Scammel ballast tractor on one of my 'Pickfords' somewhere.
Don't ask where, I've scattered a few about.

Them Tupperware doings are bugging me now.
I thing Stringfellows lorries were a cream colour.
Can see, in my mind's eye, a white vehicles with faded blue Tupperware logos. Or were they blue, with white logo?

Sod off.
There are pics on WW (possibly aerial) showing such lorries at Tupperware's Beech Hill site.
Though I think they may be b&W.
