I tie a string to them (both pairs), similarly with my mittens which are threaded through my anorak sleeves.

I-spy, be careful that you don't use hairy string It tends to chafe.
Unless it's during a time of atonement.

I thought then for a minute you typed 'one of my threads has gone missing' - but then I looked again to see who had started the thread and realised it wasn't Dostaf.

See Mac's 'Sockpuppetry' mention.
Jerry Lewis was another who wouldn't listen
Replied: 15th Sep 2012 at 17:38
Supposedly, Jerry Lewis often adopted that stance to make him appear smaller (a lesser man) than Dean Martin.
They were both the same height (Or near enough)
Replied: 15th Sep 2012 at 17:43
Jerry Lewis was always having his hosiery go amis.
Replied: 15th Sep 2012 at 18:01
Apparently, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis were lovers.

Ah, you'd lost me then, Veg Grower.
I wonder what became of I-spy's lost sock?
Many of ours hop it, I-spy. All very ... odd.

It reminds me of an episode of "the young ones" when (i think it was Nigel)took his washing to the launderette. As he was shoving it into the drum one of his socks shot through the door and set off down the street.

See, Mache, I'm intrigued now. Why all the bother?
Were you there for the week? Why not go barefoot? Surely nobody would have noticed, thanks to your wellies.

I decided to have a good sup and sleep in me car, it was a hot day
Replied: 18th Sep 2012 at 16:58
So why worry about the socks?
Had you soiled them.? If so, you should have binned them. If they were just a bit grubby you should have put them in the glove compartment.
You're allowed to put things other than gloves in there, you know.

When you come out of the water at Blackpool, any clothing that has got wet stinks. I was told once that it was the Seaweed, but I have my own ideas.

two years ago approx i threw out 23 odd socks,i laid them to one side hoping the other 23 would make an appearance after 12months they went in the bin.this month i have just counted ,16 odd socks all waiting for the other foot to appear,so far no sign.my wife said wash the bloody things your self then,i do wash my own gear and they are all pairs, until she takes em out and they bloody disappear.when i chastised her about such ,she disappeared.
unfortunately like a certain movie star ,she will be back

I can't believe you have that many socks. Is it a man thing?
Or are they all the ones you have gleaned over the years from Christmas and Birthdays and Father's Day?

Not a shoe girl - no interest in shopping this one, apart from online of course.

It's gone national!
Replied: 23rd Sep 2012 at 18:24
Socks in the press. I never iron mine! There are strange things afoot.
Is there a sock world out there?
There's many a sock whirled in our washine machine, I-spy, only for me to find ...
'You spin some, you lose some.'

Image consultant Angela Marshall said: ‘People can avoid odd socks by just keeping them in pairs in their drawers.’
So that's where Mac gets his image advice from?

Dostaf - I wish I could say there are no odd socks in our house ... but I find that is an elusive feat for my family.

I remember my socks stickiing to a wall.
No, they weren't nasty, it was the wall. I bet it would have veen handy for removing dead skin from your feet, it was that rough.
Butlin's chalets had a Tyrolean effect inside and out.

Though its sock-shun is pretty good.
