I have been in my house crawl space adding a 240volt line ( usually the standard 120volt in the USA for most appliances) to the laundry room to accommodate a new stackable washer/drier unit which delivers on Tuesday.
A couple of hours scratching around in there and my knees and hips not what they used to be its been painfully hard work.
I had to stop work yesterday for a recovery break and it's back to it today.
Now we have the old washing machine in the lounge waiting for the delivery men to take it away lol.

Yep...gel padded...I recovered them the other day while clearing out my workshop

Done with crawling now, just have to connect the socket then electrickery can do it's work

Lol....I'm the usual husband fall guy, now it escalates, it's not just case of putting a power supply in, now it's paint all round the laundry room and new tiles on th e floor, good thing it's not a big room!

I'd look up the state Permitting Rules before powering up.
Household insurance could be invalid if no permit is signed off.

There was already a 240v line in which had been cut off, so no problem, I re-instated it again.
State rules change a lot across the USA , I spent enough time having to adhere to them.

A person shall not equip a building with electrical conductors or equipment or make an alteration of, change in, or addition to, electrical conductors or equipment without receiving a permit to do the work described. (The code refers to Act 217 of 1956 for certain exemptions for unregulated electrical work.)

I was NOT equipping my home with additional conductors, original permission was given in 1973 for the 240v line, it was not in use, I reinstated, I'll mind my business very effectively, you mind yours.

Hope there's no problems later down the line, would hate to say I told you so.

A signed permit from 1973 will not suffice. You've carried out non-permitted work. If anything fails causing damage you'll have no recourse with the insurance company.

You may not be worried now, but you will be when your staring at a pile of ashes.

Hope the wiring and receptacle were UL listed.
