A Christmas Day story

Started by: britboy (6794)

No one should be alone on Christmas Day, a good friend of ours, a batchelor in his later years and a semi-recluse invited us over for Christmas dinner, his version :-)
He said "it doesn't matter if you can't make it, I usually do Christmas Day alone and that's ok "
We made a nice bowl full of salad and a lovely fruit salad for desert.
It was a "different" Christmas dinner, a choice of two types of frozen pizza, so it was salad, pizza and dessert, all pretty good.
We looked at some of my old family photos on the flatscreen tv and he brought out some of his, an avid fisherman and a passed profession of a teacher of teachers, a very interesting and learned man.
We watch a new to us Netflix program "The Man in the high castle", proved to be the start of a great series to watch.
Sometimes he appears to be a little prickly but once you get to know him he's a great man to converse with.
We were so glad we took up the invitation and to call him a friend.

How nice britboy.. Christmas Day is a tough day to be totally alone.. So pleased you spent the day with him and just because it's Christmas, it doesn't mean you have to have what we would say is the ; Traditional' meal..
As long as you are in good company and enjoying the time together, what you eat can be anything.. I had a Burger with a Jack Daniel sauce.. it was good too..

The Man in the High Castle is a good series britboy, I've viewed series 1 and am about to start viewing series 2 on Amazon, it's an adaption of the book of the same title by Phillip K Dick.
