Neither of these reports even mention Wigan Athletic, or how they have made town famous.

Wigan became famous long before Latics ever entered the premier League. I'd say it was famous for coal, cotton, Wigan Pier, George Formby,Wigan casino and a rugby league team.

Fair comment up to a point Jay, but surely folk only come across the Latics simply because of them playing the top teams that are televised.It's not so often you see the bottom teams on a Sky match, unless the top ones aren't playing.If they (hopefully not) ever get relegated how many of these viewers would remember them then....
