was told at weekend that wrlfc are considering building their own stadium around marus bridge. last year after a 5 plus million turnover, they came away with a quarter of a million profit. after paying the dw fees and no profits on food and drink that was the remaining figure even with a wembley win.

IL isn't wealthy enough so where would the finance come from?

already plans to move the gym equipment and physio into the old pembec school[ montrose ave.] plans for training erea same venue.

What would happen to the DW Stadium if the Warriors were to build their own Stadium and the Latic's were relegated to the Championship and perhaps even lower.

If they don't do summat with those new flashing light adverts they have started using at the rugby, I won't be renewing my season ticket!! From the west stand, it is ruining the view of the game.They are so distracting, it is impossible to make out the players or the ball, when play is over the far side of the pitch.Its comparable to havin' Blackpool Illuminations behind the playing area! Or are they a crafty ploy by Mr Whelan, to run down the rugby?

The landlords of the Robin Park Stadium are Wigan Council.

The funding for the construction of the stadium came from various sources. £11,000,000 of it came from the government's 'City Challenge Fund' (which also paid for the JJB warehouse, also with Wigan Council as landlords). Very little came from D.Whelan.

The stadium's 'true' title is Robin Park Stadium. JJB were it's first sponsors, DW are it's current sponsors, both are using the pricipal sponsor's privelage of using their name on the stadium for the duration of their sponsorship contract.

Could you imagine the uproar if Old Trafford was announced as 'the Aon Stadium'?

It's under the heading re Whelan wants rugby at the DW or something like that. Report about today's play off game could have taken place on Friday night. Nothing there about anyone moving from the DW and why should they?
