R.I.P.Don


this morning they have laid to rest a legend of the rugby game,Don Platt passed away at the age of 78,Don played for Wigan, Leigh, Oldham, and Batley, I watched him play many times for Leigh,in his latter years Don was in a wheelchair,he was a good un was Don I hope he rests in peace

He played over 100 games for wigan a good goalkicking forward,and also both of his sons Maurice and alan had professional careers

i remember don platt playing fullback for wigan,indeed a good player.r.i.p.don

Donald Platt played for Wigan between 1952 - 1958 he played 108 games scoring 22 tries and kicking 47 goals totalling 160 points
Maurice played for Wigan in 1978 and made 12 apperances
I cant find any info on Alan

He played with some great players at Wigan. Billy Boston, Jack Cunliffe, Brian Nordgren, Dave Bolton, Brian McTigue etc and Don wasn't out of place alongside them.
