and the ref is James Child

Started by: peawapp (5107)

the referee for fridays Leigh v Catalans match is none other than James Child which will no doubt ensure that it will be spoiled by that shithouse's whistling every three seconds and a comfortable win for the frogs, further bad news for the Leythers is that that bloody useless article Tim Roby is one of the touch judges which will further ensure that he will not notice any transgression on the frenchmens part like forward passes, offside, knock ons etc. and between them they will send the Leythers out of the challenge cup,

My God. He's moaning and making excuses almost a week before the game.

He has to make excuses to cover himself,so that if they win,it will have been an almighty achievement

I read that Nanyn had passed the great Jimmy Ledgard's points total which is a fine achievement BUT I would think that most of Jimmy's points were scored at the top level of rugby. Is it fair that his record is passed by someone who has primarily scored his points against lesser opposition.

Tim Roby will be ref at the Wigan V Barrow game on Sunday so hopefully we will be able to get away with all the forward passes we make. Unlike Leeds and Sent Hellins who have never passed a ball forward all season

catalans are in fine form with some good scalps of late ,dont think they will need the officals help.

We could get a team off here to beat Leigh.

seeing as how the Cats shoved 47 points up the mighty crust munchers we Leythers will regard anything less than 60 points against us as a major teiumph

why dont they play the Leigh game at the DW as a curtain raiser for the Warriors match

seeing as how Leigh have beaten Barrow twice in the League this season and also seeing that Catalans have slaughtered wigan at the D.W. this season surely i-spy it would be more appropriate if they played the Wigan v Barrow match as a curtain raiser at the sports village stadium

I see Richard Agar has been fined £6000 for what he said about Mr Childs.
peawapp's comments would have cost him twice as much

Peawapp remembers the match at Gateshead that Leigh had to win to avoid relegation to Championship 1 last season but one,Childs was the ref then and he saw to it that Gateshead won to relegate Leigh whether childs was working to the R.F.Ls orders to save Gateshead or wether he was just a useless tool is open to question but I'd rather believe the latter. so bad was he that he was verbally attacked by Paul Rowley after the match and Paul had to be refrained from attacking him physically. Mr rowley was then fined heavily by the R.F.L. and banned when he should have been given a medal. justice however was done later when Gateshead were found to be a load of cheating barstewards and relegated themselves thereby giving the Centurions a very well deserved lifeline

peawapps comments would have cost him his headif players can be caned for poor performances ,then surely match officals should be "monitered" by everyone.if the refs useless lose him or her.hq has people watching every game why dont they get off the fence and do something.if i was a ref i,d be my biggest critic and hold my hand up,perhaps its the thought of losing all that brass, that keeps em quiet.

First half ran the game well but second half seemes to lose it a bit at one point the players seemed to tell him the rules but on the whole a good performance.

if you have seen James child give a good performance then you are indeed a very fortunate person, just ask Alan Agar, Peawapp and a couple of thosand Leythers and about eight thousand Hull fans and they will surely tell you a different story the man is an incompetent fool who does not know the rules

it is my contention that we lost the best ref in the League when Russell Smith took himself off to Oz, of the present lot probably Ganson and Alibert are the pick, the rest are very average and Child,Halloran,Hewer and Roby are absolutely useless, bring back Clay, Thompson, Lindop,Matt Coates, and the daddy of them all Leigh's very own Stan Wall.

Peawapp,I worked at Parsonage wi' Stan Wall.
Why did he go to Saints later on

I dont know why Stan went to Saints,I see him regularly these days He watches Leigh a lot when his commitments with Saints allow him to, just recently he has been doing a job for Leigh as a temporary timekeeper until they find a regular one.

I'm glad you brought that up fossil, because I was thinking that lots and lots of wigginers dont own a timepiece as they all seem to stream off the ground before the final hooter whenever their team is being beaten
