It is mystifying why utd seem unable maintain first half form into the second half G B .
My carrington contact tells me that at times training sessions are very poor and lack lustre .
And is one possible reason why other teams appear quicker and fitter than utd.
And i return to a previous gripe .
At times in the second half yesterday POGBA looked totally disinterested , caught in possession more times than he should be at that level. It seems to rub off on others .
Time to tell him go forth and multiply .

hannibal is in the under 23s & a full international for tunisia . he,s the most fouled player in the 23s league & he,s been on the bench for the last 2 games & cant get a start for the likes of matic, mata , jones e.t.c. & he is more talented than elanga but elanga has his foot in the door . there,s more of them in that under 23s but the club sent them out on loan the likes of garner ( forest) dialo ( rangers) mengi ( b/ham) williams (norwich) tuwanzebe (napoli) .

There might be now more kids playing football and more junior teams, but compared with the past many are not ending up playing Professional/Semi Professional football as the clubs sign more and more foreign players, many at the lower clubs on cheap contracts.

I followed my grandson from 8 to 18, during which time I saw many talented young lads who were as good as some of kids of my generation who went on to become Professional/Semi Professional players but have either packed up playing the game or have ended up playing for a open age Amateur club due to not being spotted by scouts like they used to be in the past.

Why there is now an assumption that every foreign player is better than an home grown player is beyond belief.

"Why there is now an assumption that every foreign player is better than an home grown player is beyond belief."

I'm not sure there is an assumption Owd. Fishing for kids in the English pool restricts them to a finite amount of very top prospects to choose from whereas the rest of the world has a much wider choice. The ideal situation is to pick up the young "Fodens" from the English sector and the ones that don't make the grade, pass on to lesser clubs in the UK (or Dortmund). At the same time, scout the world for the cream of a much larger crop who can play at the very highest level to create a title winning team.

In addition, sign the very top established players which other clubs have nurtured to slot into an established team of top young and middling players.

This has been City's strategy, which is bearing fruit.

Don GB

I am not on about the the richer clubs like City signing good top class foreign players.

I am on about many of the lower league clubs who are now signing single foreign players with no family committments because like minimum wage jobs in everyday life, they are will accept low paid contracts which help to reduce the wage bill even though many of them are no better than many young british born players who are no longer getting the same chance like in the past.

Today, junior fooball is a conveyor line to nowhere for many young talented british born players.
