Rugby signings
I see Saints have signed a big centre from Leeds…Just wish Wigan tried to sign someone who looks as though he could make an impact

I always think that Hurrell doesn’t look fit. But you are correct. I look at the Super League page every day and clubs are signing / re-signing players daily but nothing from Wigan.

No, nothing at all.
I hear Wane's back in the fold.
Ambition has all but disappeared now.
Slow handclap stuff and lots of 'walking' ahead, methinks...

Need a quality centre and stand off forwards will be ok

Haven’t they signed two Aussie forwards? In today’s England pack Wigan have two of the six forwards including the captain.

is he still on the books at wigan ? .
Replied: 24th Oct 2021 at 12:59
Yes he is

I read French is struggling because of covid restrictions in Australia and the gyms are shut. So wouldn't he be better coming here and using the stadium facilities?

I just feel we are struggling to attract the marque player's from OZ/OR NZ anymore ,if any come they seem to prfer St HELENS or LEEDS , just not WIGAN and i don't know the reason why not ? but again i have to say that unless some new blood id brought in then, i believe you can forget the idea of winning some silverware , but hey that's just my view's .....GB

Being mentioned Richardson from Castleford, would improve kicking 100%.

I played Rugby Union GB in the Royal Navy..late 60’s early 70’s…at U19 level…actually played at the old Twickenham against Southern Counties U19’s…happy days…although it was Union I always liked League better to watch in those days..I played Fly Half…my rugby hero in those days was Wigans Colin Tyler…I tried to copy his kicking style…happy days

GB…I mean Colin Tyrer
Replied: 29th Oct 2021 at 17:16
Good grief, roylew. How long did it take you to take a kick at goal? I used to go to the tea bar and back before he managed it!
Replied: 30th Oct 2021 at 15:15
Roylew & gideonfel , I remember Colin Tyrer very well i don't know if you will agree but i feel that after that dreadful nasty tackle at Wembley against Castleford where he had his jaw almost shattered for me he was never the same player! As for you roy did you ever play Rugby League?? Also do you still go watching the Warriors ? Oh I have just seen Scotland score a try and even my wife said it was a double movement , and Tonga have had 9 first teamers out that could be why the scoreline is so big ,but they will all be back against England next Saturday ........GB

It was Keith Hepworth who Broke Tyrer's jaw at Wembley in 1970, first Wembley final that I attended. Final score: Castleford 7, Wigan 2.

Bill Ashurst looked nailed on for the Lance Todd trophy and the name Bill Kirkbride flashed up. There was a good photo of the incident in ( I think) the Royal Oak in later years.
Replied: 30th Oct 2021 at 20:33
That's right, the photo was on the wall in The Royal Oak for years.

GB..I never played League…but I always tried to play like a League Stand Off….I have stopped going to Wigan games now…the game has changed that much that I don’t recognise it as Rugby League anymore. I can’t help myself following them from the sofa and internet though…Gideonfel…It took me 5 minutes making a stand for the ????????????
