McShane is playing in a very average Cas team so it doesn’t take much to be top dog every week. Sam Powell has played very well and scored vital tries for Wigan but with French, Hastings, Farrell etc. playing starring roles he won’t get many weekly votes for MOS.

I too thought French but hoped for Farrell with it being his testimonial year

I suppose they take into account metres gained and tackles made...and like broady says mcshane may have been the standout player in an average team in that calculation
