Sky rips us off again

Started by: peter g (3530)

As if we don't pay enough for sport Sky want even more money off us now by putting football on Sky Box Office channel and charging extra for it.

Sky has not ripped anyone off.

They have a product, you want the product, you pay the price.

Just because it is your team you don't have the automatic right to watch it as part of your package. City were on yesterday and I watched it as part of my package. Next week it could be me paying extra and you watching as part of your package.

That's just the way it is.

If you don't want the product don't pay, simple.

Just glanced at my DAZN schedule and there are at least sixteen football games on today plus snooker and at least fourteen American Football games. All for £90 a year. Plus all Europe’s Cup games next week.

I see peterg, I only watched our game yetserday and assumed that it was your earlier game you were talking about and that it was on ppv.

Ordinarily, Liverpool vs Sheffield would probably not be on t.v. as although Liverpool are a big draw, it might not be the match of the day.

All games are televised every week but not all of them are broadcast in this country. Normally you wouldn't have had chance to see next week's game but the t.v. company has made it available to you albeit at an additional cost. I can't see how that is a bad thing. However, I respect your decision not to pay and not watch the game.

As for trafford, the reason they were on ppv is obviously that they are no longer a big draw.

broady, stop making us jealous!

Oh, get over yourself Grim.

T.V. audience League table now is it?

Do you get a trophy for that?

I was stating the obvious, but, whilst we are being petty....

.........who has won more trophies in the last 10 years, City or the rags?

Na, na, na, na, na, nah.

OK FF, we'll draw a line under that.

SKY always stirs up conflicting opinions. Fortunately I am in a position to pay for the service but if I were not I would possibly feel equal vitriol toward them that others do.

It has always been the same though, these that pontificate that the game has been taken away from them due to PPV and that it was better in the "good old days" are talking nonsense.

It is the same today as it was in the "good old days" before all games were televised, if you wanted to see a game then, you got off your arse and went to a game and paid your money to support your club, none of this going to the pub rubbish.

Now, instead of going to the game you pay your £14.95 and watch it.

Bargain!

Don't take this banter too seriously whups, I'm not the persona I portray on here as I'm sure you aren't.

If we did meet I'm certain we would get along. I'm adept at winding up, just as you, Grim, LG, FF and TC etc are.

It's just a bit of fun don't you know? Grim has it sussed.

Well, well, well,

That's a "well" for each of the cackling witches dancing around the pot this afternoon. The question is however, which witch is which?

To witch 1) As chief witch in charge of pot stirring duties, I assume your post has been less than complimentary.....but that's your forte.

To witch 2) Stop being so precious, I would suggest that you were being pompous only you wouldn't know how to spell it. If FP was such a good friend of yours stop using him in your (non) argument with LG, it's so distasteful.

To witch 3) Just remind me, who are you again?

The reason I haven't much support on here is that this two bit sports section is only used by a few blinkered bitter rags, a couple of sensible rags, an intermittent Wolves fan, the odd Latics fan, a poster who is a Liverpool fan and a poster who isn't a Liverpool fan. So it's hardly surprising is it Einstein?!

Having said that, I don't need support or back up in wrapping you lot in knots, it's so easy.

P.S. I wasn't aware that Broady had a blog.

Errrrr, IRONY once again ff, or was that over your head once more?

Plus, how long did it take you googling grammar to come up with that miniscule (incorrect) point?

Taking a look at most of your posts reflects the deficiencies in the U.K. education system.

I give you your post above,

"Well doen the Toon fans for raising money for foodbanks."

And the one prior to that:

"He wasn't the brighteest of sparks"
Now that IS a bad one to get wrong.

Is it just a bad spell you are going through?

If I were you I'd keep a low profile on the grammatical front for fear of making a fool of yourself once again!

BTW, a comma was not needed after the "messing" as I was not making a pause in my sentence at that point.

Shall I add some snots to the occasion?
Why, yes I shall!

Notice the moving of the comma in that last line to reposition the pause?
