What price

Started by: grimshaw (4009)

Given that the berties are very much on a downward spiral what price them totting out v salford city in the championship in a few short years now that salford are on the brink of big things .
Odds are a tad skinny from the bookie chaps for this happening .
Big club berties my arse .

Nice part of the world you live in Grim, Im quite envious.

I've done alot of metal detecting in the area (the wild living person that I am ).

In fact I made my one and only gold find not too far from there, a special place for me.

I could think of worse places in the world to live oyears.

I live in a village not far from the Humber bank which has easy access to Cleethorpes and the Lincolnshire wolds .
A few years ago we had a fairly large discovery of roman coins on the edge of the village .
A preserved British Romano settlement is on the outskirts of the village with some roman artefacts in a local museum.
Downside of living here is the eastern winter winds that blow off the humber .
Brass monkey weather .

Yes, there was plenty of activity over there in years gone by.

As alot of detecting is done in the winter (so as not to disturb crops), I've spent many a pleasurable day in a field being lashed by those winds and driving rain.

No whups. chatty has no peers in the trouble making department, he is just more subtle about it.

During lockdown and previously, chatty took a sabbatical and we all got on very well, the posts were competitive yet friendly and tolerant. As soon as he returned and started to spread his poison once more the quality of the site nosedived into the gutter where it has largely remained since.

It was then I decided I didn't need his childishness in my life.

You and the other grown up trafford fans stand your ground on all matters which is to be commended, but his sole reason for posting is to cause division and animosity.

I don't support every stance LG makes but I certainly understand why he makes them.

Grim headlined this post with a comment about City lining up against Salford City in a few short years.....mmmm....City are now seemingly coming together somewhat and Utd have had a really bad week.....Seeing the quality of players they have, what's wrong at the club. Is it Utd that could be facing Salford.....

Very poor again today. A problem somewhere at the club. I won’t mention individuals but the usual suspect was poor when he came on. Cavani
has a lot of improving to do. Embarrassing the way he tried to milk a penalty.

So Manchester City pull a full two points ahead in the league from Manchester United who are in "complete disarray" and have had one of their most "shambolic starts" to the season since Adam was a lad.
Strangely not a mention from any part of the media concerning Citys bobbins assault on the league.
I suppose you either generate news or you dont.

Here you go Grim.

Well done to trafford for beating Everton.

As I previously said, Cavani will be a good short term signing but not a long term fix.

De Bruyne, what a muppet for missing the penalty.

Liverpool have been taking lessons from Tom Daley, especially Mane (can't stand him, he has gravity issues).

Two teams with different systems playing an intriguing game spending the first half trying to win it and the second half trying not to lose it.

Perversely enjoyable.

BTW, ABU is now ABL, our main rivals.

Still trying desperately and failing miserably to hitch Citys busted flush waggon to Liverpools coat tails then
They lapped you in the league last season and then went there Sunday with half a team and got a comfortable draw at a place they usually struggle to get any sort of result.
Klopps got Peps measure!

Give Cavani a sniff of goal and for sure he will oblige .

The berties foden is going to be one hell of a player .
Can easily see him drifting over the city in future to strut his stuff at the T O D.

I'm not that well informed Grim.

However, it wouldn't be a bad shout as a stop gap until we find another world class forward to rotate with Jesus. Having said that if Delap can't get into our starting eleven Pep isn't likely to move for another young forward.

My suspicions are, (rightly or wrongly) Pep will go back in for Messi for a couple of seasons and use Jesus/Torres as the main forwards when Messi/Aguero are injured (which is often these days) then either promote Delap (who is only 17) to rotate with Jesus/Torres or see who is around. As someone once said, "there is no value in the market" at the minute in that position, but Greenwood I think is a non starter.

I do honestly feel though that if Messi doesn't arrive Pep and Aguero could possibly leave at the end of their contracts. If we do get Messi then all three will sign a two year contract. I hope my crystal ball is foggy but if they do leave it might be good to have a refresh/reboot.

Nothing lasts forever!

Finally dawned on Pep what people have known for years then, he's unable to win the Champions League without Messi in his team

B M rid of him when he didnt win the C L with them.

Went away to sulk .
They do say he is a right sulky sod when things are not going to plan and misses Messi to extract him out the mire.

BM didn't get rid of him, he left to work for his mates at City rather than sign a new contract and they have been trying to stab City in the back ever since.
