If Roy Ashton lived on Dale Rd in Golborne then he was my Dad, also in the link there is reference to Walt Ashton who was my Grandad, unfortunately both have now died, Walt in 1991 and my Dad died at the young age of 58 in 2001 he married and moved to Standish in the late 60's but his parents lived in Golborne until they both died in the early 90's.

my mate colin hall told me he is Roys cousin and Iv'e just checked my E-mails and found an E-mail he sent just before he went abroad, on it is a photo taken in 1936 which shows Walter Roys Dad-Your Grandad, and Walt's Dad your Great Grandad and also Walts brother Ted. I will get this posted on either this forum or ye olde golborne on facebook it'll be interesting for you however as I am not too brilliant with the intricate workings of the internet I dont know how to do it so I will wait until my son or son-in-law or one of the Grandkids turn up and I will get them to do it for me so keep your eye out for it'
