sandra could you look up coughlins in 1891 census living at 18 vauxhall rd. scholes i think my grandfather was lodging with them i know of one of coughlins children mary ann born 1882 and died aged 12 @this address iwould probably find out my grandfathers mothers name if she was living there as well.

thanks sandra but on my grandfathers marriage certificate it says 18 vauxhall rd and i believe that he was lodging with coughlins or they where lodging with them grand fathers name was william finney he was married in 1896 but thanks a lot for looking , pat

I do not know if this is any help or not but their used to be some Couglins go to the convent one was I think Imelda and another Bernedette and they told me their parents originally came from Ireland

i have relations named Coghlin {uncle /auntie} both deceased but their daughter is still living in Wigan.
dont know where her ancestors lived but could ask her i think they have been researching. regards Joy
