Any body remember school board man if you didn’t go to school he came a knocking on your door to find out why does anyone remember his name for ince

Flo - Mr Horrocks seems to come to mind but that’s a very long time ago. 1940’s 1950’s maybe.

Cant remember His name I think He rode a moor bike.

I was told that my two aunties set off to go to school but the older one didn't like school and she took her sister to the park and stayed there all day very often.
My grandma knew nothing about this till the school board man knocked on the door to ask why they weren't in school !

in the fifties and sixties an ex policeman named Beasley (aka bobby Beasley) was a truant officer who in the seventies was a probation officer he also visited local schools to teach road safety,I speak from personal experiences in all three areas.
