Town centre

Just wondering what the plans are by the council to cleaning up the buildings on Standishgate and Wallgate so that they look smarter than they do now…the new centre will expose them even more…

Why would the council pay clean up privately owned buildings? Or do you mean the mess they have left with the knocked down gap next to Goldsmiths jewelers?

I agree with Roylew on this topic ,looking at the area's he mentions it looks like walking down somewhere from the VICTORIAN ERA !! For me yes they steal enough money from us ratepayers & business rates to help clean up the town ,after all it's their responsibility surely!

Do these buildings belong to the council?
Why should they pay to maintain someone else's property?

Do the council come round to clean your windows, mow your lawn and paint your front door?

Well someone should be made to do it…beautiful buildings mostly built by a Mr Makinson going to ruin

Very sad it seems council policy if its old knock it down .example the old market all that was needed was upkeep on the place use to enjoy going into the market , similar other spots we have lost too.G..B

So sad seeing Standishgate yesterday.
