David Turner

Started by: annefair (1182)

Hi can anyone help please ? Looking for a David Turner on 1901 census. He was born in Kendal Westmorland in 1891. Just wondering how many siblings he had. He finished up living in Wigan but from what age I don’t know. I found out some info but I have lost it. TIA

If you look at Lancashire BMD you can find Jessie 1893 and Algar (probably Olga )1899 also born in Wigan ( both died as infants) and Ann 1905 died 1907 and Elsie 1907 also born in Wigan. Mother's maiden name Dennison

His whole family tree, inc baptism, 1901 census in Kendal, 1911 census in Wigan, 1939 (register)census, marriage cert, death, probate etc etc has been researched by someone and is readily available on ancestry. I'm looking at it now.

Your welcome Anne, just be aware in the smaller libraries such as Aspull
( run by volunteers) you will be restricted to half hour then be cut off and will have to wait about 5 minutes before you can log back in , in the main Wigan library it is 1 hour but you can ask the attendants to increase the time , in the museum you can stay as long as you like and it is quieter
( not open Mondays)

Anne if you go to the museum ask to look at the files for the first world war casualties , in the one dated 1918 January to June page 31 there is a photo of Davids brother Joseph killed in Iraq 21 Dec 1917, it also says his father is serving with the forces in Aldershot considering his age ( about 50) I imagine he is something to do with training the troops? also his brother ( I assume David is serving in France
I have seen the family trees on Ancestry and I cant see any info on Davids siblings except 2 births ?? but his siblings are not hard to trace
