Here on Vancouver Island, surrounded by the sparkling waters of the Pacific ocean, I have lost all contacts with my old friends around Wigan. I attended Upholland Grammar School from 1948 to 1955, when I left to study Medicine in Liverpool. I am now almost 83 years old and fear that I have outlived all my old buddies. Does anyone out there remember me ?? Please send me a note.

I remember an Alan Porter in Pemberton, he was a great mate but I didn't think he was ten years older than myself though.I lived on Norley Hall, went to St John's and then Wigan Grammar School.

I lived in BC for a number of years and travelled and worked on Vancouver Island many times. I envy you.

Cheers.

As Fred says a beautiful part of the world. We considered moving to Qualicum Beach at one time but decided to stay in Calgary.

Bill,

I worked on Vancouver Island many times in the 1970's, mainly up the east coast. Courtney and Nanaimo, etc. I may have been up to Qualicum, can't remember.

But, the west coast of the island draws me to the beautiful scenery. I have Canadian friends who lived in Tofino and worked in the restaurants there. If I ever win the lottery, this is where I will spend my last days.

It's God's country...HE told me so...Bless...

We will be travelling around Vancouver Island from May 20 to May 27, staying on the coast in Nanaimo as our base.
Looking forward to it.
