Trencherfield mill managers

Started by: LEP1950 (746)

I've often noticed posts about mills on this site, and although I'm asking about something that happened a long time ago, perhaps someone has parents or grandparents who mentioned a Mr Jack (John?) Stamford/Stanford, who was supposedly the mill manager of Trencherfield Mill in the early 1920s. I'm asking on behalf of someone who can't get to register on wiganworld. I read that there had been some kind of 110-year celebration of Trencherfield Mill not so long ago and that a brochure was published. Does anyone have this brochure? Is there a list of managers in it? Or possibly a photograph? Or does anyone know where one could get hold of such information?

Thanking everyone in advance on behalf of Fran. Please think really hard!!

Admin, I was going to tell LEP the same thing. They will tell you where you can get a copy if there is one available.

Linda

The period between the two world wars was a turbulent time for the Trencherfield. The business, Trencherfield Spinning Company Ltd.or Trencherfield Mills Ltd. was wound up on four separate occasions
