There was a Cain building firm at Park Street Poolstock circa 1990s
I believe they had to cease business due to clients who couldn't affords to pay after the work was completed
Maybe or not the same Cain; I don't know

Are you thinking of Bob Cain the accountant who was based in Upper Dicconson Street?
In later life he was in business with Wendy George as George Cain Leisure at the Abbey Lakes Hotel.

Bob was well known at Wigan Cricket Club as a real character and a reasonable cricketer. His father had a plasterers business situated on Mesnes Rd next to the Brocket Arms, which closed many years ago but he trained as an Accountant. He did indeed live at, or be in business with Wendy George at the Abbey Lakes in his later years. Last heard of living somewhere in Standish some years ago! Boy did he like a drink!
