Pit shaft

Does anyone remember a pit shaft in number 3 field on platt lane fields in scholes?
Trying to locate it

Hi Gunnerbilly , I have been searching for pits in and around platt lane fields as of yet had no luck will keep looking as i am interested in local mining in and around wigan coalfield see you later . G.B.

have been checking wikipedia site and i found the pit near bottom of the list of this site called " LIST OF COLLIERIES IN LANCASHIRE SINCE 1854 ""
and as i say at the bottom almost is listed "PLATT LANE ( 6 ) , STILL trying to locate exact spot for you ok G.B.

Shaft 4 isn't listed, but 2 and 4 are https://www.mindat.org/loc-382826.html

Hi Gunnerbilly, I am a former mine surveyor for the NCB. I have a lot of Geological Survey maps of this area including the ones of the Whelley/Scholes area. All mineshafts are shown on them. However, can you explain where "No 3 field" is and I will probably be able to help you?
