School st

I've known for a while that in 1939 a good portion of my grandads family including my grandad himself lived on school st(23,25,27). They were the carter's I'm just wondering if anyone knew them or has any pictures of them. A few of them were definitely still living there around 1945 from marriage records.

Where is School Street.

It's the street where the school is. Obviously!

School st is in scholes (I think)

It’s off Ince Green Lane. Coming from Lower Ince it’s the last street on the left before the Manchester Road junction with Ince Green Lane.

There are two School Streets one off Ince Green Lane as Gaffer says near the Central Flats and the other in Scholes next to the Ball and Boot or whatever it's called now.

If you consider "Wigan" to be the area covered by Wigan Council, there's at least half a dozen School Streets.

If you consider "Wigan" to be the town bearing that name, then there's only one.

I was born there, no.66!

I was born in School St (Scholes) My Mum's maiden name was Carter. Her parents (my Granparents) lived on the opposite side of the street - not sure of the numbers though.
