Surely the hall does not need £20million spending on it

To repeat something I heard on the TV last night.

David Cameron, had his 'Big Society'

George Osborne had his 'Northern Powerhouse'

Rishi Sunak has his 'Levelling Up'

But what do all of those sayings actually mean ?

They spread a bit of cash around, give Wigan £20million quid for Haigh Hall, and that's it, country is fixed, for decades to come because they 'Levelled Up'

What a crock of poo

They couldn't account for £20 million if they rebuilt Haigh Hall from the ground up!

I can imaging a few pockets being filled out of that grant.
And the same goes for Earlestown!!

Having not been to Haigh Hall of late ,but i feel that if some dosh was being splashed about then why not "REFURBISH WINSTANLEY HALL"" then we would have had 2 decent buildings ???
Failing that can someone please explain when this money has been used for the HALL ,who or what will it be used for ?? and how many Wiganer's will actually benefit from it ?? I am not a killjoy ,but surely that sort of dosh could have been to help "clean /tidy /Wigan up for we have quite a lot of GROT SPOTS,don't you agree??
P.S. Went into Warrington town the other day and was amazed at the development of the whole area , shops .works the infrastructure was head 's above Wigan ,SO what's gone wrong with our town ?? G.B.

The government are funding it's upkeep because it's a government asset.

PS: that's Haigh Hall, not Winstanley Hall. Laaaaike!
