has gone to the dogs especially millers lane estate ..fair enough

Its not as bad as it was years ago, I drive through that area regularly and the council have improved the housing a lot, it looked fantastic when it was done, and some of the residents do take a lot of pride in their homes, but some don't and these stick out like a sore thumb.One thing that area does have though is community spirit, they organise things together.
Theres a massive new estate being built there at the minute, I think thats more of an eyesore, looks like a ghetto with rows of three storey houses all attached in rows.Reminds me of a POW camp.

Platt Bridge has improved loads.I was on the Millers Lane estate recently and the last time i was there was years ago,it was all flats then and very dismal but it has vastly got better.I know the community in the past have tried to improve things.

i was born in Millers Lane, and when the Independent visited Platt Bridge on the George Orwell centenary, I almost cried at the description. Sure, there was great poverty, but we felt safe. we kids played more or less where we wanted to. I always the area well.
