HAPPY SPRING

It’s finally here. The official first day of Spring. The time of year when people are much happier coming out of their SADS and feeling miserable after Winter’s relenting cold and high heating bills.
The leaves are returning to the trees and Spring bulbs are flowering after their long sleep underground; the birds sound happier too; the sun shines brighter and the sky stays light longer; people smile more, and manage to get out and about again at long last.
So Happy Spring everyone.

It's been a beautiful day too. I love Spring but must admit to Summer being my favourite season.

Peter, have you finished your pergola now? I'd love to see it when it's in full flower.
I have to admit that Summer is my favourite season as well, providing we get some lovely days so I can sit outside with my Codebreaker and cup of tea when it's warm enough to be without the constraints of jumpers and cardies. 2020 was the nicest we've had in years and, because I was furloughed from work, I was able to take full advantage of it.

Mollie Pergola finished now put 50 solar powered lights onto the frame. Planted a Clematis and two Jasmines.and it looks like they are growing. Spread 3tons of golden gravel over the last 2 w/ends and today replanted two wooden barrels and got the third into position ready to fill with water to make a wild life pond in general about 50% ready ,some flags to be laid then a bit of brickwork and last but least a hand rail near the back door. I will have to twist Tomplum's arm to come and show me how to put photo's onto WW My sister is bringing me some ornamental grasses down from Scotland to plant in the raised bed

Spring has definitely sprung. A friend took me to Wigan Park today and it was lovely. Sun shining, birds singing, the scent of new mown grass. F!ower beds being prepared for summer planting. Ducks and geese on the pond . The best bit was watching the tiny pre-school children playing in the sand in the Kiddies playground. All in all a beautiful afternoon.

Peter, I'm glad you finally finished your pergola and, the rest of your garden sounds like it's going to be your own bit of paradise, but you've worked hard on it.
Holly, it's been 65F today and it must have been lovely there but, unfortunately, this lovely weather will end today, for a week at least, then who knows.

We done a bike ride today and although it was warm, there is still a nip in the air but. after a couple of uphill climbs , it became a ' cooling' breeze, a luverly day, , lets hope there are many to follow
