It’s an expensive and unnecessary layer of management. The money saved can be used better elsewhere in the NHS.

How many non descript jobs are there in the NHS and for years has been burdened with to many layers of management. I don't think any one will be missed

What about NHS Scotland and NHS Wales? Will they carry on bunging money at them to please theirselves with?

There isn’t an equivalent in Scotland and Wales. They have a series of health boards.
NHS England was part of the Lansley health reforms, it was created to manage the NHS in England at arms length from the politicians.

In my opinion it's the best news I've heard about the NHS in a while. Perhaps now the business of the medical professionals in the hospitals will run more efficiently, effectively and more economically than before all these layers of non medical managers took hold. (HOPEFULLY)

People should remember that it was the Labour government of Tony Blair which created many of administration jobs within the NHS, especially at the top!

The question is "Will the money saved result in more jobs in the departments and wards of the hospitals and not just be a cosmetic exercise to save money as part of what Labour claim is a massive deficit left by the previous Tory government".

Although there should be a net financial benefit it’s more to do with control. Far too often politicians want to improve some aspect of our lives but are stymied because a quango is in control.
