I'm getting good use of my suit this month, 2 of my long time mates have died suddenly and this is very fricknin' , then one of my nieces gets married to balance the 'Yin and Yan' ,
Both deaths were unexpected, no illness, no complaints , one minute they were there and the next minute,,,,Gone, Thats the way I wanna go but, not yet a while, I hope

I had to attend two funerals 5 weeks apart my wife then my brotherThese are not a cheap affair and I still have to sort a headstone out for Yvonne's grave. My brother pre-paid for his own funeral so his family did not have to find any funeral costs.

I'm sorting Bithell to have a skip ready for me and if you can plan it right, the skip can fit about fifty bodies easily with plenty leg room for all. Not sure of the date yet

Tom on a serious note lets hope that is not for many years to come. I have said if I am in rude health I want to reach 90 years of age but if I take bad ways then they ship me off to Switzerland

Yes Peter, I'll advocate that too, I think we should have the right to allow a doctor to give us a humane exit, That would help the NHS and unburden them from helping the young sick folks

Well, this isn't the jolliest topic I've read, but there's a lot of sense in it.
The most recent person I lost was my partner, whom I found dead on my kitchen floor. No illnesses, no bad health, just gone, but it is a horrible thing when friends of our own age die because it starts to make you think of your own mortality.
I agree 100% with Peter and Tom about euthanasia being made legal, provided it doesn't involve someone else being held responsible for the death of another human. If it got to that point, I'd want a doctor to prescribe a lethal dose of pills for me, then leave me to it. That way, nobody else would feel the need of guilt.

I feel for you there Mollie because one of the funerals I going to, Is a lifetime mate of mine who loved bird watching, He has been all over the world watching rare and seldom seen birds, Last week he and his wife went to Mull to take photos of birds, they spent the whole week there and, the day of going home. he puts the baggage in the car he shut the boot and fell to the ground, He died there and then, his wife sat in the car,,,,
you can probably imagine how that felt for her,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Oh Tom, the poor woman. Some people say "I know how you feel" when they're trying to console a bereaved person but, unless you've been through it yourself, you have no idea how anyone feels.
I can imagine how distressed and shocked she was. I was in shock for nearly three months after my guy died suddenly and, if there were no warnings for her, she will be in deep shock. I hope she has someone to help her deal with her loss.

She's surrounded by friends and family, Her son went up there to console and help as much as he could, Because it was a sudden death, they had to stay there and help with police inquires and stuff like that until the coroner's report, Which confirmed it was an annulisum , A main artery busted , he never knew about it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,tragic,

Aneurism, Tom, but my bloke died when a blood vessel near his heart busted. Similar sort of thing but his was called an ischaemic heart attack. It could have happened whilst he was driving on the motorway, which could have been a disaster so, in a way, I'm glad it didn't happen that way. He was a big strong bloke, worked out with weights, kept fit, and didn't know he had a problem. I also had the Police here as well the same night, and my brother and his missus came to the house, along with his son and a friend. Two little words are said often - if only.
I'm so glad she has friends and family around her. She'll find comfort with them, I hope.

On a slightly happier note. My brother who passed away had 10 grandchildren 9 boys and 1 girl. His granddaughter got married three days after his funeral and every one said he would be looking down with pride on the day
