See our millionaire leader and his lovely wife is in a spot of bother over accepting freebies.
He’s not the only one.Maybe all politicians should wear advertising
Sandwich boards naming their sponsors .

As far as I am concerned, Gaffer is a very informative and a man of knowledge which is more than can be said about the same handful whose postings are just limited to the same old rhetoric about the fourteen years of the Tories.

Perhaps, there should now be more concern about the new lot if the last ten weeks is anything to go by!

Replied: 20th Sep 2024 at 08:53

The "new lot" as described by Owd Codger must have set the record for the quickest time everyone wants them out of office as soon as possible. Their performance so far has been lamentable! And as for the PM-yuk!
Other countries must be looking at the UK and wondering have we all gone mad!
Are all MPs not in it for freebies? Let's hope they are charged by the Inland Revenue as "Benefits in Kind". ( But I fear not!!)

cheshirecat, so it's a case as someone else has commented if you criticise liebour you're automatically a tory ......that's sad. Everybody knows what the tories have done, and it can't be defended but Starmer's shot himself in the foot so many times in such a short time. Liebour are now top dogs, and in the good old British trait, will have all the dirt dug up on everything and his dog to bring them down in the eyes of the people. They are now realising what it's really like to govern a country. What's there to be green eyed about ?

Took away the Heating allowance for most of the pensioners
Next will be the £10 bonus at Christmas
Threatened to do away with the Concessionary Bus Pass
Threatened to stop the 25% Discount for sole occupancy
Not raised any ones Personnel tax allowance so some pensioners will end up paying tax
Released nearly two thousand prisoners before their time
Done nothing to stop the boat people
Told the local councils they must use their housing stock to house the boat people/asylum seekers
What are they doing about the NHS Hospitals and Dentistry
Why don't they stop the millions of pounds sent overseas has aid and spend it in this country
All as they are doing at the moment is kicking the working class/pensioners into the ground.

Whups,
The three leading lights of reform,

Richard Tice has £21 million invested in the UK. He pays full UK taxes on his income plus profits from the business.

Ben Habib has £20 + million invested in the UK again he pays taxes as per Richard Tice.

Nigel Farage pays his earnings into a private company. He pays corporation tax on profits plus dividend tax.

Nigel Farage has £3 million in property assets in the UK.

Gaffer.
I'm assuming you know that you do not receive a bill for corporation tax?
You have to report / declare your earnings yourself.

Some expenses can be deducted, and there are numerous allowances you can make use of to help reduce your tax liability.

I wonder if Nigel takes advantage of the numerous allowances and deductable expenses?

I’m sorry to say you appear to look for the worst in people you don’t agree with.
With his extensive earnings Nigel Farage will leave his tax returns and annual company report to a firm of accountants. As of May last year the shareholder funds in his company amounted to £1.36 million.
If you look at a current edition of Tolley’s tax guide and compare it to the 1997 version you’ll notice it’s more than twice as thick as the older one. Every page is an opportunity to exploit taxation . The majority of the extra pages are courtesy of Gordon Brown.

Just been reading about whoopsies best mates the non doms. If she does start to tax them it's reported in the Express and Guardian that it could cost the govt a billion pound hole in their finances. The reasoning behind this, is they will simply take their businesses out of the country, therefore losing jobs and taxes on the money they make in the uk. This will affect the uk's standing in investment and too much taxation and make business think twice about coming here.
