I WONDER ....
.... where everyone is tonight. I'm sat sitting here, aaaall alone with nobody with me and nobody to moider er .... I mean talk to.
'Tis like the Mary Celeste. Maybe I'm just a pigment of my own menageration and I'm just dreaming I'm here. Or, mayhap I'm in a parallel world where Wigan World doesn't actually exist?
Sat'day neets were always the best night of the week with fun and merry banter, so where are ya'll? Come out of yer hiding places.

mollie, I have lost great interest in the site and certainly do not post much these days.
Some of the posters I knew well have left and some no longer post.
I hope that your evenings are filled with interesting things and this site is only one of many interesting additions to your evenings being enjoyable.
My very best wishes.

How very true, Ian, but I also enjoy chatting to folk, especially on a weekend.
It's very sad that so many smashing posters no longer come on here, mainly because of the aggravation caused by some who don't know how to conduct themselves with dignity and respect, but there are some that do and it's the fun topics I post in, not the negative ones.

I find the nobheads on here to be quite 'entertaining'

I watched the very last episode of 'Sweet Tooth' with Gus and Big Man, and that poisonous tree, which leaked out the blood of the earth, because that oriental looking bitch had pulled out that axe which was embedded in that tree, and the young woman who had given birth to four hybrid human/wolves, she turned into a goody, it was just like real life, and I hope they make a season three of it, but I don't think that they will

In the evening I watched catch up tv mainly gardening programmes and wishing my gardens were like those on the Tv Some of the gardens shown would cost thousands of pounds to get like that or many years to establish the growth.I did have a look on line but mainly the rugby results

I've never been a big contributor on here and tend to just check in on the mornings. Like a lot of others have said people are put off by the sniping and bickering which is sad. I don't know why admin don't clamp down on it Other groups are much stricter.

Its gone a lot quieter since Stardelta left.
He talked a lot of sense and didn't suffer fools. A lot of people couldn't get the better of him so they ( allegedly ) put him on ignore and at every given opportunity reminded anyone that cared to listen that they were "ignoring" him! Laughable
A lot of comments were aimed at him in a derogatory manner, but he stood his ground and gave as good as he got! Some members could not hack that, so they jumped on the " lets gang up on Stardelta" (adopting the childrens playground mentality) bandwagon. Now it's gone quiet, until next time.
Who will be the next target? It could be you, or me
That is my opinion why I think its very quiet on here.

There wasn't any friction nor antagonism between Stardelta and me. Also, I never had him on ignore as, for me, there was no need to take such an action.
Stardelta was active on this site and his words often motivated some members to respond. Therefore, it is possible that it is a little quieter without him.
I don't feel this site has gone quiet due to the absence of Stardelta, but due to a percentage of members feeling that much of the content and character of the site no longer interests them. Although some of these members possibly take a look occasionally, they clearly choose not to contribute much, if at all, and this leaves the site absent of contributions from many different people.
Sadly, some members are no longer with us and some of those members contributed to this site on a regular basis.

Mr Biker:
I wish you well too. Wish I could get out and about like I used to, but as I still work, I’m limited as to where I can go alone these days. I only post on here at night when I get bored, but I’m quite happy during the day.
Kath:
You say other groups are much stricter about the sniping and bickering. So did this at one time when Brian was running the place. He’d regularly lock threads, or remove them altogether, if they went against the rules. You’ve been a member here for almost as long as me, so you’ll remember that.
Cheshire Cat & Ian:
I 100% agree with both of you. I know Stardelta could at times be a bit confrontational and disagreeable, mainly regarding racist comments, maybe because he had good reason to be, but I never had a problem with him either. In fact, quite the opposite. If I asked a question on here, he was one of the people who would help or give good advice. However, I think he was also aware that he wound some people up and that was wrong, but he didn’t deserve to be banned (perhaps a warning), considering what certain others on here blatantly flaunt with their disagreements and sniping which are much worse, and they are the ones keeping folk away, and yet they're still here bitching and bickering like a pair of ageing school children.

There are a lot worse members than Stardelta, whom are still active, in, my opinion.
As far as I'm aware going off what I have read on here. The 2 members on here who couldn't get the better of Stardelta had him on ignore ( allegedly! ) So, how can they pass comment on him and judge him when they don't even know what he is posting

Posted by Ozy on photo a day.
In my opinion he's typed a lot of truth in this
"I’d like to make it clear that I don’t necessarily always agree with Stardelta’s views … in fact , I find many of his posts , particularly on the topic of immigration for example , to be tediously inflexible at times , but the bloke ,
( at least I assume it’s a bloke ) , comes across to me as being both intelligent and articulate. Both virtues combined being a relatively rare combination on this site.
But where’s the benefit from banning him from the site ? … it’s censorship … nothing less .
We constantly bleat on about censorship in North Korea and various other left wing or communist countries , yet choose to bar a bloke from speaking his mind on a bloody tinpot Wiggin social media site for Christ's sake .
… Jesus wept ….can you see the irony here Ron ?
It’s blatant censorship ,
nothing more nor less .
I suppose this post may also be subject to censorship … time will tell ".
Regards . Ozy .

Most of us have never met, so we don't know them and they don't know us, so why waste time and energy on those who only find enjoyment belittling others when there are far more interesting and important things to think about. Just leave 'em to it because it shouldn't affect any of us in our real lives away from the forum. I learned that the hard way a long time ago. They're not real.

It's foolhardy for anyone to post their real name, email address, phone number, home address, or any personal details on any website, but here in particular as we are the ones discussing it.
Firstly, it isn't only us reading these posts. People from all over the world can read every word we say and, for example, if an email address is given, any unscrupulous person can use that and cause chaos to its owner. There are some strange people out there not to be trusted.
For myself, not one solitary soul on the internet knows my married name because, when my husband and I split, I reverted to my maiden name, only using my married name on legal documents that the law requires. Outside of that, only my brother and my boss know my full name and personal details, and that's how it will stay.

Well that Sledge who, many are defending oh here, Blabbed my Full name and was never slow to tell folks where I live on more than one occasion,

Hi everyone, I used to contribute back in the early days, mainly to hear and share the stories of people and places from days gone by. I see there are a few still around from the WW 'roots', mollie, Kath, tomplum, PeterP to name a few. I don't post hardly anymore, I didn't like all the sniping and petty bickering that went on, but I do pop in occasionally to see who's still about, many great contributors have come and gone over the years, a few of which are sadly no longer with us. My best wishes to you all, old and new. Wiganworld is a great site, long may it continue to be...

As a matter of fact, back when the original Wigan World Forum was in action somebody posted what they "believed" to be my full name and was done specifically to target and upset me. It was close, but not correct. In any event, I hit the report button and Brian removed the comment immediately.
So the answer to your question is no, I wouldn't like it and I would think of that person as a very nasty piece of work.

My comments are mostly to his cheshire cat friend who is championing him as a saint, I believe she may be his alter ego and thats why she is now on ignore, So let me explain how ignore works,
If you are in a place were kids are playing and their screaming voices and tantrums are getting you down, Would't it be nice to have that nuisance silenced, Well thats what ignore does for me, The ignored posters are now not displayed so you can still enjoy the sensible comments like an adult reading a book in a library situation and this is proved over and over by the ignored people by keep banging on my door begging for their attentions but the tranquility is too great on this forum for me to ever let them out of the ignore cell, I hope that clears things up retep

The bottom line is that tomplum is doing 100% of the antagonising of members he has ( allegedly ) on ignore. He never fails to have a dig at them at every given, and ungiven opportunity. So much for ignore
Other members are starting to realise this, hence, their lack of support for him.
He has to learn ( its not too late for him! ) to realise that if he cast's false aspersions on other people, then he must be prepared to accept retaliation in return.
The answer is simple for me, ( maybe not for him!) leave me out of your petty, childish, infantile, cheap comments, and I will reciprocate. After all, you are ignoring me, allegedly!
Deal?
Alternatively if the above is beyond you, may I politely suggest that you seek professional medical advice as attention seeking behaviour can be a problem. It could make you unpopular in society if not treated, especially on worldwide public message forums.
